Happy New Year and healthy bonsai tree
A new year as come. We hope that the 2008 year brougth you joy and success in all your adventure. But, we would like to wish you an even better year in 2009. It is important to take a brake at the beginning of the year to reflect on the upcoming year and what will be our future goals.
The 2009 growing season as already started for me. I am planning and deciding which species I will sow this year. Last fall, I sowed some japanese maple seeds for natural stratification. This spring I will stratify some seeds to be ready to sow, right before the last frost. I hope to have a wonderful growing season and to get no surprise when I take my trees out of the enclosure. Last year, I had a surprise with field mouse who had eaten most of my bonsai tree bark.
We recently received a shipment of Murraya Paniculata (Orange Jasmine / Mock Orange). You can purchase these seeds in regular packet in the tropical section or in the bulk section.
I found an interesting site:
Arborday.org. A section of the site is dedicated to tree seeds and their development from the tree to a seedling. The specific article with pictures can be found here:
A seed takes root.
